Shimano Dura Ace Di2 ST-R9170 + BR-R9170 11S hydraulic control levers

A completely new level of reliability and braking performance is achieved with the Dura Ace disc brake system. Even under challenging weather conditions, the rider can set maximum trust in braking performance. Despite the integration of a hydraulic system, Shimano’s developers were able to keep the STI lever design slim and compact. Of course, the reach is adjustable so that the position of the levers can be individually set to suit the rider. The shift paddles now feature a more defined "click" and have been extended in length for more confident and comfortable shifting. E-Tube compatibility means that the function of the shift paddles can be customised to suit the rider.

Technology

Synchro Shift
First introduced in XTR Di2 M9050, Shimano’s innovative Synchro Shift is now available with Dura-Ace R9100. Available as a programmable Di2 option, Synchro Shift creates an intuitive experience on the bike through Synchronised front and rear shifting that can be custom programmed by riders.
In addition to traditional “Full” Synchro Shift, riders can optionally select “Semi” Synchro Shift. This intuitive new mode automatically reacts when the rider shifts from one chainring to another, automatically shifting the rear derailleur to minimise the gear step, thus preserving the rider’s rhythm.

Servo Wave
When you pull a servo wave brake lever initial pad travel is fast, so little lever movement is needed to bring the pads into contact with the rotor. The power multiplication factor then increases rapidly at the pad-to-rim contact so more of the lever stroke is used to apply greater braking power with improved control.
