Shimano 105 R7100 12S Disc group

Elevate your performance with SHIMANO 105

SHIMANO 105 is a mid-range road groupset that inherits racing technologies and design to offer a truly unique balance of performance, reliability, and affordability. Shimano 105 brings new energy to road cycling with its completely revamped interface and 12-speed mechanical shifting. The ergonomic Dual-Control levers fit a wide range of hand sizes, while the sub-1:1 ratio offers excellent options for all climbs.

Optimised grip and comfort
The new ergonomic Dual-Control levers adapt to a wide range of hand sizes and reduce the distance between the hand guard and lever. The lever is more efficient and you get more control with less effort.

A transmission for different cyclists
Here's the low ratio you've always wanted. The sub 1:1 12v ratio range of SHIMANO 105 allows you to tackle the steepest gradients and better control your effort along the way.

Slowing down has never been so pleasant
Thanks to the new piston design, race braking standards are now available to even more cyclists. The new SHIMANO 105 braking system allows you to advance your cycling route, to experience the joys of efficient braking, and to push yourself beyond your limits.

Technologies

Hollowtech

An ultra-light crankset not only reduces the weight of the bike, but also reduces the rotational mass, facilitating acceleration. The aim is to reduce the weight of the crankset without reducing its strength and stiffness. SHIMANO's advanced forging technology has solved this problem with the HOLLOWTECH crankset. As with high quality frame tubes, a hollow crank can provide incredible strength and stiffness with very little weight.

Hollowtech II

Providing the best balance of stiffness, strength, weight and rotating performance The concept of Hollowtech II technology is focused on producing a superior crankset which will maximize a rider’s power transfer. The rigidity of the crankset ensures pedaling efficiency while its weight, a key element of the crankset, you want light, aids in cycling longer distances over which the rider needs to pedal more. Naturally, Shimano strove for the optimum balance between the conflicting needs of stiffness while producing a lightweight crank. Hollowtech technology is an ultra-lightweight hollow crankarm created by Shimano with the company’s own proprietary forging technology that also maintains rigidity. The addition of Hollowtech II technology integrates the bottom bracket axle with the right crankarm for more stiffness and a weight savings to achieve a high-dimensional balance. Its outboard bottom bracket bearing system provides better weight distribution and more pedaling stability, allowing for more efficient power transfer. The Hollowtech II crankset has been developed by pursuing the optimum balance of stiffness & rotating performance in a lightweight and beautiful crankset design. High Precision Sealing Moreover, Hollowtech II crankset has a high-precision sealing in the bearing area to increase durability maintaining the excellent rotating performance for long periods.

HG HYPERGLIDE

The distinctively designed HYPERGLIDE sprockets incorporate specially positioned shift ramps and tooth profiles for improved chain control during shifting. Fast and responsive indexed shifting is the result. The HG cassette sprocket, which was developed for the MTB 9-speed system, underwent comprehensive optimization to achieve super-highly efficient shifting.

DCL (Dual Control Lever)

It has brake and shifting functions in the system and enables easy operation. Ergonomic innovation is probably more critical to the higher standard performance than the added gearing. The shift internals borrow the robustness from Shimano's MTB technology and are so smooth and effortless that one finger shifts front and rear are possible. Indeed, shifting is the ultimate act of Shimano Total Integration, and simply has to be experienced to be understood.

The 105 Dual Control Lever has an optimized structure with features that include the lighter weight pivot section in the near side of the shifting unit and the integral shifting cable for lighter steering. Its many component parts are made so compact and precise to achieve unprecedented high-speed performance.

Reach Adjust

Brake lever is equipped with a reach adjust mechanism. The distance from handlebar grip to lever can be adjusted to suit any hand size, type of riding and individual rider preferences.

Ice Technologies

The fade, which can occur to disc brake rotor and pad when braking on a long downhill ride for instance, has a negative impact on the braking performance. Shimano has adopted Ice Technologies disc brake rotor and Ice Technologies pad to realize the cooling technology for consistent performance. The clad disc brake rotor blade, which has a 3 layer-sandwich structure of stainless steel, aluminum and stainless steel, provides better radiation performance achieving from 400˚C to 300˚C surface temperature. Also, the radiation fin has been adopted for the pad. Moreover, the clad disc brake rotor blade and the radiator fin provide long pad life, less noise, less fade and lightweight.

One Way Bleeding

“One Way Bleeding” was developed for quick and easy prevention of air in Shimano's hydraulic system. They've streamlined the oil route throughout the system to prevent air bubbles from being captured in the system. One way oil routing plus a funnel tool with mineral oil provides an easy and clean bleeding system.

Direct Mount Rear Derailleur

Rear wheels are easier to remove with a mounting option for Shimano Shadow RD and Shimano Shadow RD+. The direct mount feature is designed to suit a wide range of contemporary frames with large-section chainstays, in particular mountain bikes with thru-axle dropouts. Allows for flexible frame design. No special tooling requirement (M10x1 Mount bolt, without e-clip)!

Shimano Shadow RD+

Less distraction quiet drive train now is real! Rear derailleur stabilizer Shadow RD+ reduces chain slap and save you from chain drop. Lighter and more efficient than roller type chain device!
