Michelin Wild Enduro Rear Competition Gum-X3D TL-Ready 27.5" tyre

Tyre ridden by EWS 2018 World Champions

More speed
Thanks to a tread pattern specifically designed for the rear wheel, this tyre provides more rolling efficiency, terrain versatility and maximum braking grip.

Traction
More grip provided by the new generation of Gum-X3D rubber with decreased rigidity for better directional control and excellent terrain versatility in summer and winter.

More strength
Superior durability thanks to the strong, lightweight "Gravity Shield" 3x33 TPI casing designed for the most challenging Enduro riding and its high-density reinforcement.

Technologies

Gravity Shield casing
A tyre’s casing is made up of different thickness threads to meet the athletes needs in robustness, flexibility, efficiency and lightweight terms. The more threads there are, the finer they are, making the construction lighter. On the contrary, the less threads there are, the bigger they are, making the tyre stronger. TPI (Threads Per Inch) refers to the density of threads per inch.
The Gravity Shield casing has been specifically designed for Enduro use with the 3x33 or 3x60 TPI structure, offering unparalleled traction and strength.

Mescola Gum X3D
Rubber is one of the key components of a tyre. It provides different performance characteristics according to its composition. Gum X3D Tri-Compound is a combination of 3 different compounds that offers maximum traction, durability and puncture resistance.

Tubeless Ready
UST Tubeless Ready tyres can be mounted without an inner tube following a few simple rules:

  • use a tubeless wheel type;
  • do not exceed the maximum tyre pressure;
  • use a tubeless tyre sealant;
  • check the tyre pressure before each ride.

Michelin TS
The flexible beads invented and developed by Michelin are made exclusively of aramide fibers, which are usually used for bulletproof vests. Its structure has a very great resistance to extension whilst being very lightweight.
These beads therefore have the special features of being very light and very strong, which reduces the overall weight by 40 to 70 grams per tyre.
