Merida One Sixty 700 III2 2024

The ONE-SIXTY 700 gets all the cutting edge enduro performance of the radical test and award-winning design but with a high-value and fully featured all-aluminium frame. That means hard-hitting modern geometry with the FAST kinematic suspension that delivers a chaos taming ride alongside quality Marzocchi suspension. SRAM’s proven 12-speed wide-range drivetrain means reliable shifts time after time, while four-piston brakes make short work of keeping everything under control. Evolution or revolution? How about both? The ONE-SIXTY is a radical, award-winning design that pushes the hard-hitting enduro platform to new heights. Just as well, because once it’s there it’s ready to rip the longest, toughest descents too. The proven suspension system uses a flexstay design with an adjustable rocker, so whether you choose to run it as a full 29er (162 mm travel) or mixed 29/27.5” setup (171 mm travel), the geometry is preserved. There’s a radically steep 79° seat tube angle for goat-like climbing and slack 64° head angle plus 170 mm fork to deal with downhill trail chaos. The AGILOMETER sizing allows riders to run a longer or shorter reach frame independently of their height, while suspension becomes more progressive as you size up, all with long-travel dropper posts. WIRE PORT cable routing plus reliable threaded bottom bracket round out the package, while carbon frames offer on-board tool storage and FidLock magnetic bottle cages.

Technologies

Long Fender

An optional extra coverage mudguard that bolts rigidly to the back end of our bikes, protecting the rider from dirt and water spray while reducing noise, movement and prevent damage to the paintwork.

Fast Kinematic

Suspension system that uses a Flexstay design to reduce weight and maintenance, is Adjustable to run 29” or 27.5” wheels without altering the geometry and has Size Tuned shock progression that increases with frame size, so lighter and smaller riders can access all of the travel and heavier riders get the support they need on big hits.

P-Flex

A suspension design where the traditional pivot point on the seat stay is eliminated in favour of a flexstay design. This uses the compliance of the material and specific shaping of the tubes to allow for the seat and chain stays to move apart as the suspension moves through the travel. By removing this pivot point at the seat and chain stay junction, we save weight, reduce maintenance needs and add stiffness to the frame structure.

NON-Slip Tightening

This system means you only need a single tool to tighten important bolts, making it easy to secure them while out on the trail and also making routine maintenance faster and simpler. The bolts have a specially shaped head on one end that fits into a matching recess in the frame, preventing rotation. That means there is no hardware bonded into the frame itself, so damaged threads or bolts can be easily replaced.

Smooth welding

Sometimes called "double pass welding," a second pass on the weld gives the frame a clean, organic look. At first glance, you'll be convinced it's carbon.

HFS - Hydro forming system

Tubes are inserted into negative molds and a hot emulsion of water and oil is forced under pressure, enabling them to form complex shapes.

Prolite 66 Triple Butted Aluminum

Proven high-end aluminum (6066) is extremely light and strong. By using triple-butted wall thicknesses and hydro forming technology, the best ratio of stiffness to weight can be offered.

Wire Port

MERIDA designed headsets that enable all control cables from the handlebar to enter the frame through the headset cover, creating a clean and uncluttered look, allowing for a lighter, stronger and more aerodynamic frame structure than with conventional cable ports. Depending on the model, the cables are run completely internally (including the bar and stem) or semi-integrated, where the cables enter the frame underneath the stem.

Internal Clamp

When every second counts, the smallest of details can make the difference between winning and losing, so we look at every aspect of our frames to make them as sleek as possible. By using a seat post clamping mechanism that secures the post with a wedge inside the frame itself, we minimise the turbulence and potential drag while keeping post height adjustment simple, giving a frame that is more aerodynamic and also better looking.

X-Taper headtube

Steering precision is vital to safe and confident handling, and the X-TAPER HEADTUBE allows us to significantly boost this precision. A larger headset diameter at the bottom paired with a smaller one at the top helps to deal with the strains modern riding and equipment can put on the headtube, all without adding unnecessary weight. It allows tapered forks to be fitted with ease and delivers precise and confidence-inspiring steering.
