Fulcrum Wind 75 DB 2-Way Fit c19 AFS wheelset

The WIND range now comes to fruition with the 75 DB model, a high profile that allows Fulcrum engineers to express the full potential of research and development in the aerodynamic field. The ultra-aero profile makes this wheel ideal for time trials, triathlons and, in general, for all situations where aerodynamics counts and you pedal at high speeds.

The design challenge was to achieve high values of air penetration and speed without compromising, given the height of the profile, the stability and manoeuvrability of the wheel. This result was achieved thanks to careful wind tunnel studies that produced the new profile of the unidirectional carbon rim whose internal and external dimensions follow the dictates of the new trends: 27 mm width and 19 mm channel.

The rim is 2-WAY FIT™ , i.e. tubeless from birth. It therefore requires no sealing tape, simplifying and lightening the coupling with the tyres thanks to the machining of the rim with Mo-Mag™ technology. The rim without holes is also more rigid and resistant.
The spokes are double-thickness stainless steel, rounded straight-headed (the most aerodynamically advantageous choice) and the nipples are aluminium.
As for the internal mechanics, cartridge bearings sealed inside aluminium hubs have been chosen for both the front and rear.

WIND 75 is the choice for those seeking maximum speed, it is the entry ticket to the Fulcrum carbon range, it is a valuable ally when seconds count, it is a beautiful design exercise to make your bike unique, it is the true meaning of #FULCRUMFAST.

MoMag™
Mounting Magnet
What is the MoMag™? A magnet and a lot of ingenuity. This is how the patent for the proven 'Mounting Magnet' system, the MoMag™, was born. How does it work? The nipples, once inserted inside the rim via the valve hole, are 'guided' to the point of engagement with the spoke by the magnet. With this simple yet ingenious device, it is possible to obtain a wheel without holes on the upper bridge, but with spokes tensioned by traditional nipples! Advantages: no holes on the rim means having a rim that is homogeneous at every point, free of critical points or breakage zones and, for clincher profiles, Rim Tape is not necessary, to the benefit of weight. The advantages are immediately obvious: longer rim life, greater resistance to fatigue, the possibility of greater tensioning of the spokes and greater stiffness which, in terms of performance, mean greater reactivity and acceleration. But that's not all. The advantages are also in favour of extremely simple and fast spoke maintenance or replacement. All to the benefit of the cyclist who has chosen Fulcrum®.

Rim full carbon technology
For the construction of Fulcrum® full carbon rims, laboratory-studied combinations of different types of fibre are used, including unidirectional and the famous 90 degree 3K that finishes the models at the top of the Fulcrum range.
For their construction, a special HTG ("High transition grade") resin was developed that has a glass transition threshold at higher temperatures than any other fibre used in the cycle industry. This enables incomparable braking performance.

Disc specific rim
Fulcrum® is one of the first wheel manufacturers on the market to offer two completely different rim profiles between disc and traditional brakes. No adaptation therefore, but a rim rethought from the experience of years of design. With no need for a braking track, the Fulcrum® R&D department has designed a completely new profile that aims to save every gram of weight and improve aerodynamic efficiency. The greater width allows a perfect fit with tyres of 25/28 mm or larger.

Undrilled Rim Bed
The absence of holes on the upper bridge is synonymous with a product that is homogeneous throughout, free of critical points subject to stress. The advantages are immediately perceptible: less weight, longer rim life, greater resistance to fatigue, the possibility of tensioning the spokes more and greater stiffness which, in terms of performance, mean more reactivity and acceleration.

Wide Rim Tech
The Fulcrum® R&D department, following requests from the race courses, has worked to create rims that are about 4 mm wider than in the past.
This technical choice makes it possible to offer the ideal base for 25/30 mm tyres, the preferred size nowadays. This ensures stability, excellent handling and superior comfort.

RDB™ Rim Dynamic Balance
The concept is as simple as it is ingenious: balance the mass of the rim joint with a mass of equal value positioned exactly on the opposite side.
For carbon wheels the principle is the same, although a different technology is used. For carbon rims, a special process is used when aligning the carbon skins, so that the rim is always balanced.

DRSC™ - Directionated Rim-spoke Coupling
The exclusive rim-spoke coupling system allows the rim, spokes, nipples and hub to be aligned by distributing the same amount of tension at each point, thus eliminating the most critical areas.

Anti-Rotation System™
This new system dedicated to racing bike wheels takes the concept of spoking to a new level of performance.
In fact, Fulcrum® engineers have redesigned the spokes and hub seats to create a solid and immovable whole. In this way the spokes
a) never lose their initial tension, thus keeping the wheel perfectly reactive and centred;
b) remain in the position studied in the wind tunnel to ensure the best possible aerodynamic penetration.

2-Way Fit
Tubeless technology was adopted in the automotive sector, then in the motorbike sector and finally in cycling. After its debut in mountain biking, it was time to "put it on the road".
Fulcrum developed 2-Way Fit™ technology to ensure the perfect compatibility of their tubeless wheels even with normal clinchers and inner tubes. 2-Way Fit™ wheels are perfectly multipurpose for tackling any situation. Thanks to a special indentation in the valve area, the tubes are fitted with maximum precision, keeping the tube perfectly stable inside the clincher. The valve for tubeless tyres is also accommodated without risk, with the undoubted advantage that there is never any air infiltration due to sub-optimal positioning during assembly. The advantages are beyond doubt: tests have shown an unprecedented increase in smoothness. Since there is no inner tube, friction due to friction with the tyre is eliminated and the perfect adherence of the tyre on the rim avoids energy losses. A tubeless tyre does not suffer from sudden deflation in the event of a puncture, so that's a nice safety advantage. No risk of pinching, then, because there is no inner tube to break.

AFS Axle System™
The Axial Fixing System™ is the solution developed by Fulcrum® for fixing the disc brake to the hub. The constraint conferred by the fixing rebate surface, which is greater than in already known standards, makes it possible to achieve greater structural rigidity and therefore more precise and powerful braking.
