DT Swiss ER 1400 Dicut 25 Disc wheelset

Alloyed in the pursuit of perfection

Experience unmatched durability and reliability on your rides with this premium wheelset. Its welded aluminum rim made out of a premium alloy, provides an ideal blend of strength and lightness, and its 22mm internal width allows for wide tires and low tire pressure for exceptional grip on challenging terrain. The DICUT hub with its patented two-in-one spoke holes guarantees a permanent aerodynamic advantage and encloses the Ratchet EXP system for seamless acceleration and reduced weight. It all adds up to a smooth ride so you can make your miles look bigger than ever.

Rim
The welded rim is made of a premium aluminum offering an ideal blend of lightness and strength. Its 22 mm inner width provides comfort thanks to the support of wide tires that you can ride at lower pressure.

Spokes
The DT aerolite® on the front wheel and the DT aero comp® on the rear wheel offer an ideal mix of durability, lightness and aerodynamic advantage ensured by their T-head.

Hub
performance thanks to its shape and patented two-in-one spoke holes.

Freehub Body
The Ratchet EXP system not only increases reliability, but also reduces weight by fusing the ratchet and threaded ring into a single component.

Technologies

The Ratchet technologies
Every ratchet has its purpose. Learn more about the different DT Swiss freehub systems. Each Ratchet System has its special characteristics, but they all provide the iconic reliability. This is a result of the simultaneous engagement of the teeth, creating far fewer point loads. Discover how the constructions differ and which common features they share.

Tubeless technology
All DT Swiss wheelsets are tubeless compatible and the ASM versions come tubeless ready, equipped with tubeless tape and valves. Tubeless tires have a number of advantages over the conventional combination of tube and tire: without risking snakebites, the tire can be run with lower pressures providing better grip. The lower pressure also results in a more comfortable ride. Eliminating the tube means there is no friction between tube and tire and therefore less rolling resistance when the tire rolls over the ground and obstacles. If tubeless sealant is used, the tire can self-seal stings and small cuts. A big advantage for all those who like to ride long and far from the next bikeshop.

Bearing technology
DT Swiss hubs are designed to function optimally once installed in a bicycle. To achieve this, the clamping force created by the wheel mounting system must be taken into account when constructing a hub. Learn how to ensure the optimal rotating property of the ball bearings and discover why DT Swiss does not offer hubs with adjustable bearing clearance. In order for a bearing to rotate, there must be a certain amount of play in the thousandth of a millimeter range. Without this clearance, the bearing cannot rotate. Bearing play occurs both radially and axially. Axial clearance describes how far one bearing ring can be displaced longitudinally relative to the other without load. Radial clearance is measured vertically to the center axis of the bearing.

Spoke technology
The production of high-quality spokes marked the beginning of the company. DT was synonymous with top quality Swiss spokes, even before the establishment of today‘s DT Swiss AG. To this day, DT Swiss spokes stand for durability and precision and are unrivalled thanks to their unique production process that combines lightweight with durability.
