DT Swiss E 1800 Spline 23 Disc rear wheel

Stop counting the kilometres, simply enjoy the exciting feeling of the speed of longer and longer rides

Get ready for long and exciting rides with this wheel set. The wide rim offers greater comfort for tackling miles and miles with ease. Experience the thrill of speed: the power of each pedal stroke is efficiently transferred to the road by the reliable Ratchet system for unrivalled smoothness. This wheel set is designed to give you the perfect mix of reliability, comfort and fun to make your rides truly memorable. E 1800 SPLINE 23: with a lighter rim you can enjoy the panoramic views from the hills you encounter along the way

Rim width
The 22 mm inner rim width is ideal for mounting wide tyres, for high comfort and stability when riding at lower inflation pressures.

Rim height
With optimised aerodynamics and 30 mm height, the new E 550 allows you to go faster.

Spokes
DT new aero® II straightpull spokes feature an improved aerodynamic shape thanks to the flat forging process.

Hub
The 370 hub, now upgraded with Ratchet LN system, offers greater reliability and the motivating sound signature characteristic of the freewheel.

Freewheel body
Compared to the pawl system, which is characterised by relatively smaller engagement surfaces, the Ratchet LN system ensures greater reliability by the simultaneous engagement of each ratchet ring.

Technologies

Aero+
The perfect symbiosis of strength, handling and efficiency. When perfecting a wheel according to the AERO+ concept, the optimisation of the various parameters is aimed at a single objective: increasing speed.

Ratchet technologies
Each Ratchet system is designed for a specific purpose. Find out more about the different freewheel systems from DT Swiss. Each Ratchet system has its own specific characteristics, but all offer the same extraordinary reliability. Its secret is the simultaneous engagement of the teeth, which significantly increases the distribution of loads over a large contact surface area. Discover the differences between the various structures and what they have in common.

Tubeless Technology
All DT Swiss wheels are compatible with tubeless technology and the ASM versions are tubeless-ready, equipped with tubeless tape and valves. Tubeless tyres have several advantages over the traditional combination of tube and clincher: the tyre can be inflated to a lower pressure level, without risking pinching (so-called "snakebite" punctures) and providing superior grip. The lower pressure offers greater comfort in the saddle and the absence of a chamber eliminates friction between the chamber and the tyre, resulting in less rolling resistance on terrain and obstacles. The use of a tubeless sealing fluid enables the tyre to self-seal punctures and small cuts. A great advantage for all those who like to ride for a long time and who, in the event of a problem, would find themselves several kilometres away from the nearest repair shop.

Bearing Technology
DT Swiss hubs are designed to function optimally once fitted to the bike. To this end, the torque generated by the wheel mounting system must be taken into account when manufacturing the hubs. Find out how to ensure the optimal rotational capacity of ball bearings and why DT Swiss does not produce hubs with adjustable bearing clearance. In order for a bearing to be able to rotate, a certain play, in the order of a micrometre, is required. Without this clearance, the bearing cannot rotate. Bearing clearance is both radial and axial. Axial clearance is the possible longitudinal displacement of one bearing ring relative to the other in the absence of load, while radial clearance is measured vertically with respect to the central axis of the bearing.

Spoke technology
The creation of high-quality spokes marked the beginning of the company. DT was synonymous with high-quality Swiss spokes even before the founding of today's DT Swiss AG Today, DT Swiss spokes are synonymous with durability and precision and, thanks to their unique manufacturing process, offer an unrivalled combination of lightness and stability.
