F.I.R.S.T. is the new Braking system, unique and completely renewed in its main features, in fact the FIRST of a new era (hence the name F.I.R.S.T.). A completely new project, 100% Made in Italy and CNC machined, the result of our experience gained on the race fields and the feedback gathered from 5 years of In.Ca.S. "F.I.R.S.T." guarantees made-to-measure braking thanks to the new design that will allow you to manage the ergonomics of the brake INDEPENDENTLY of the hydraulic adjustment. A suit that each rider will be able to customise through a choice of several possible customisations. All this makes F.I.R.S.T. superior to IN.CA.S in terms of customisation possibilities and performance, but above all it makes the system SIMPLER to fit, bleed and maintain.
Cartridge
F.I.R.S.T. (and IN.CA.S) are the only brakes on the market with the possibility of replacing the cartridge,
changing the diameter of the pump piston to modify the braking action.
- With the 9mm cartridge you have a more linear but more powerful braking action. The smaller area ensures higher pressures in the lines (more power), while the smaller fluid flow means that more lever travel is required to transfer the same volume of fluid to the caliper (greater modulability)
- With the 10mm cartridge there is a more immediate braking action at the beginning of the stroke but less power. The greater area develops lower pressures in the lines (less peak power), while the greater fluid flow means that the lever travel to transfer the same volume of fluid is less than with a 9mm cartridge (less modulability, more ON/OFF)
Link size
Replacing the link modifies the reaction arm of the pump, affecting the power of the system. There are three link sizes available:
- Short - More powerful braking action
- Standard, supplied as standard - Medium braking action
- Long - Less powerful braking action but more controllable
Discs and pads
F.I.R.S.T. is compatible with all our discs in all diameters, even 3mm without the need to mount the ventilated spacer as with IN.CA.S. The choice of disc has a great influence on the performance of the brake: therefore pay attention to the choice of disc diameter and thickness. For light riders it is inadvisable to mount a disc with an increased diameter and thickness because there is the risk of never being able to bring the pads to the correct temperature to maximise performance. Conversely, for a heavy rider, discs that are too small and reduced thicknesses are inadvisable. The pads are also fundamental for correct braking. Softer pads that come up to temperature immediately may be recommended for light riders, while heavier riders are better advised to use harder pads for optimal heat management.
Compatibility
F.I.R.S.T. uses the same pads and hydraulic hoses as IN.CA.S. The same fittings can therefore be used for fitting. All other parts are not compatible.
What has improved in F.I.R.S.T.

- SIMPLE to bleed - Bleed hole and cartridge with twice as many holes
- EASE in centring the caliper - Increased piston ROLL-BACK and centring grub screws
- EASE of lever adjustment - SEPARATE lever and hydraulic adjustment
- EASE in adjusting the volume of oil in the oil pan - No need to pay attention to the oil level anymore, the oil pan must be filled completely
- No vacuum, now air and oil are separated by the new diaphragm
- The pump handles the change in oil volume better
- Reduced risk of kinked hoses at pump engagement - Now the hose comes out more parallel to the handlebar
Features
- Lighter and more rigid pump and caliper. The pair of systems will weigh 60gr less than IN.CA.S 2.0
- New hydraulic adjustment system INDEPENDENT on lever position adjustment
- Possibility to easily change the link and therefore the reaction arm of the pump, for a braking power up to (+26%) compared to IN.CA.S 2.0.
- New, thinner pump cartridge with more holes for lubrication and polished piston chamber for better piston glide
- Newly shaped pump reservoir with increased oil volume (+10%) and easy oil draining even in inverted position
- New diaphragm and pump cover system for precise separation of oil and air. Avoids problems such as oil emulsions, sudden emptying of the lever, air problems after operating the lever with the bike upright, and ultimately better management of the oil volume change
- Easier caliper bleeding system - with built-in bleeding nipple in the highest position, to make bleeding faster and more effective
- New caliper mounting holes - for better and faster centring of the caliper on the frame
- New pad pin with safety clip
- Modified caliper o-ring housing geometry and tolerances for improved piston roll-back and faster oil flow
