Pirelli P Zero Race RS TLR tyre 2024

P ZERO™ Race TLR RS is the latest evolution of the P ZERO™ Race bike tyre. Developed specifically for racing, it is the fastest and best performing cycle tyre, and features improvements in all key areas. The patent-pending SpeedCORE™ technology, which consists of a thin airtight layer of rubber compound infused with aramid particles, has enabled us to lighten the casing structure and overall thickness, further reducing rolling resistance. The SmartEVO2 compound has been improved in both smoothness and grip, thanks to our new Made in Italy production processes, further enhancing steering precision and control in both dry and wet conditions. The new TLR bead design ensures even better compatibility and air retention to suit modern rim designs, including hookless ones, developed according to ETRTO and ISO standards.

Technical specifications

  • Casing: 20tpi, TLR
  • Compound: SmartEVO2
  • Made in Italy.

Hookless compatibility

  • Sizes 26-622 and below are NOT compatible with hookless rims.
  • Sizes 28-622 and above ARE compatible with hookless rims, subject to the ETRTO maximum pressure limitation of 5 bar/73 psi.

Technology

SPEEDCORE

The best performing tubeless-ready road structure in the Pirelli range features a mixed compound layer with aramid that coats the inner layer of the tyre, making it airtight. This new structure makes the tyre more resistant, thanks to the presence of the aramid, but at the same time less rigid and faster, due to the greater flexibility of the compound compared to a bead-to-bead fabric. The casing is then completed by a 120tpi Nylon ply and an anti-puncture layer, also made of aramid.

SmartEVO²

The new SmartEVO² represents the latest advancement in our high-performance racing bicycle tyre compound, enhanced by incorporating our Motorsport expertise at the highest level and the needs of modern World Tour racing. It evolves from the SmartEVO blend of three polymers with 'smart' characteristics, utilizing new materials and innovative mixing processes, now possible at our own manufacturing plant in Italy located just close by our R&D global headquarter. This results in improved overall grip, especially on wet surfaces, and a reduced rolling resistance to record level for its category, elevating both performances and handling feelings to what the fastest World Tour racers in the world demand.
